MAIN FIELD OF INTERESTS:

  • Ecology of aquatic communities

  • Zooplankton

  • Ecotoxicology

  • Ecological risk assessement

Teaching courses (Tomsk State University, Department of Ichthyology and Hydrobiolgy, since 2014):

Ichthyotoxicology, Practice on zooplankton identification

BACKGROUND:

  • 2014 – PhD in Ecology, Tomsk State University. Thesis: “Influence of insecticide Esfenvalerate on the communities of Cladocera and Copepoda in the different climatic conditions”.

  • 2008–2011 – Institute of Systematic and Ecology of Animals Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Science (Novosibirsk), Department of Insect Ecology. PhD-student.

  • 2002–2007 – Study at Tomsk State University, Institute of Biology, Department of Ichthyology and Hydrobiology.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 9 years of research and 2 years of teaching experience. The main interests are the understanding of underlying mechanisms (biochemical, ecological) determining sensitivity of aquatic invertebrates to different stressors at the population and community level of organization. Specialize on zooplankton (Cladocera, Copepoda, Rotifera), studying their sensitivity on community and population levels to different chemical and biological toxicants. Other scientific interests covers distribution and diversity of zooplankton in natural water bodies.

PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH NETWORKS AND PROJECTS:

Current:

  • Project in the frames of Government of Russian Federation Directive №220 «Biogeochemical Cycles of Arctic Bog-lake Landscapes of Western Siberia As an Indicator of Climate Change on a Global Scale And a Basis For the Sustainable Nature Management of the Region (BIO-GEO-CLIM)».

Executed:

  • 2008–2011 – Russian-German Joint Research Project “ECOLINK – Understanding effects of environmental toxicants at population and community levels: A link between ecotoxicological experiments and field observations within Eurasian climate scenarios". RFBR grant № 07-04-9228-SIG_а. Project Co-ordinators: Y.A. Yurchenko, PhD (Russian team), M.A. Beketov, PhD (German team).

PARTICIPATION IN RUSSIAN RESEARCH PROJECTS:

  • 2016–2017 – Grant of Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) № 16-34-00429 mol_a - "Influence of sublethal concentrations of chemical insecticides and enthomopathogenic microorganisms on immune and detoxifying systems of aquatic invertabrates". Project Co-ordinator: Y.A. Noskov.

  • 2016–2017 – Grant of the President of RF № МК-5336.2016.4 - "Fishe's pathologies - reality of oil spills".Project Co-ordinator: Y.A. Noskov.
